In a unexpected partnership that challenges usual expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of banned ceremonies and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The plot introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.

The mission focuses on "bizarre tests and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Changes

The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Extra Features

Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside numerous artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

Latest Free Story Addition

This patch also adds the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
